Presentation
In the heart of Burgundy, 3 kms from Beaune the Germain family warmly welcomes you to their home, Chateau de Chorey. This listed, historic, elegant chateau displays several architectural styles, typical of the Burgundian buildings from the 13 and 17th centuries. Completely restored and redecorated in 2007 it comprises three large rooms and 2 family suites, (4 people) each one given the name of a Premier Cru vineyard.
You may like to take a stroll and relax in our beautiful gardens among the 100 year old trees which surround the chateau. There you will also find a dove cot and the 13th century moat as well as the Clos du Chateau vineyards, the grapes from which produce our Bourgogne Pinot Noir.
The estate
Following the death of his father Jacques in 1968, Francois Germain took over the running of Domain Chateau de Chorey. Today there are 17 hectares of vines. Benoit, Francois’ son, joined him in 1989, firstly working in the vineyards and from 1999 he made his first vintage. He finally took over completely in 2004. The wines made at the domain are served in France’s most prestigious restaurants and can be found at the greatest tables around the world. The wines include, Pernand Vergelesses, Chorey les Beaune et Beaune 1er cru Teurons, Vignes Franches, Cras, Cent Vignes, et “Tante Berthe”.
